New World beta hits 190,000 concurrent players along Steam

It felt like it'd been evermor since we'd had a big MMO launch—until this summer. Between Crowfall, Swords of Legends Online, and Amazon River's future New World, there's right away a sudden glut of them. But of those trine, New Planetary seems to be the most popular, judging by the 190,000 players who jumped into its blinking beta simultaneously yesterday.

Accordant to SteamDB, New Public peaked at 190,811 concurrent players and currently has just over 160,000 playing. That's enough to make Newfangled World the fourth biggest game along Steam, just ahead of Of import Stealing Auto 5 and Acme Legends. It's also high on Twitch, where it's currently the second virtually popular game with just over 300,000 viewers.

There are few caveats to these numbers, though.
